The Quarizmi Team meets for the second time!
Back in mid-March, the whole Quarizmi team met for the second time!
We are a fully remote company so, for us, a face-to-face bunch up provides a feeling of togetherness that simply cannot be achieved via Skype or a Webinar. Getting everybody in the same room in the same town for four days on a regular basis is an unbeatable opportunity to enjoy the company culture.
This time, we organized a 5-day event in Madrid around one single topic: The Customer!
Differences from our first bunch up
What we did right
- We had a tight agenda but we also managed to find free time for team-building and socializing.
- We did many super-nice activities like each of us cooking a different recipe for lunch each day, or a 30-minute Mindfulness session before breakfast.
- We talked a lot about The Customer: we learned, discussed, role-played and lived Quarizmi’s Customer culture from morning to night.
- Sales and technical teams worked together on the definition of our buyer personas.
What we must improve in the next bunch up
We cooked a huge meal for lunch and went out for dinner every day. I think we all put on two kilos!
30 to 60 minutes should be enough. Otherwise, split them into two or three smaller activities and organize something different in between.
We take care of our spirituality and of our bodies; I think we forgot a bit about our bodies this time.
Our advice if you are planning on doing something similar
- Don’t fill the whole day with presentations. Make sure there is time for socializing.
- Organize the meeting in a place where everyone can come and go easily. Travel is the biggest expense but, other than that, it is not necessary to overspend; we are there to network and learn, not to experience the most fabulous hotel in town.
- Organize a good welcome and farewell dinner, and a lighter dinner all the other days.
- Involve everyone in planning the agenda!
- Do at least three bunch ups a year. They are worth every cent!!!
